The Denver Nuggets stole home-court advantage in the 2023 NBA Finals, defeating the Miami Heat 104-93 in a thrilling Game 1. The game went into overtime after the Heat rallied from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but the Nuggets eventually pulled away in the extra period.
Nuggets Dominate Overtime
Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists. Jamal Murray added 21 points, while Aaron Gordon contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler's 27 points, but they struggled to find consistency on offense throughout the game. The Nuggets held the Heat to just 38.5% shooting from the field, including 28.6% from three-point range.
The Nuggets will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series in Game 2 on Sunday, while the Heat will be looking to bounce back and even things up.
